Sri Seetha Rama Government College of Physical Education, is situated in Gopannapalem Village of Denduluru Mandal, Eluru District and it was established in the year 1967 under private management The College was taken over by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 01-04-1977. The College is affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram and is recognised by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). College has also conferred with 2(f) and 12(b) of University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

The College has 18 acres of land in which Administrative Building/Class Rooms/200 mts Running Track /Play fields are located in 11.49 acres and 400 mts Runing Track/Foot Ball court/Cricket court are located in 6.5 acres. .

SSR Government College, Gopannapalem, is the only Government College in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh, offering two Physical Education Courses, 1) Uunder-graduate Diploma in Physical Education (UGDPEd) and (2) Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) and each course is of 2 years duration.
